Description:
Manor House is a short-term residential facility for substance abusers, based on the therapeutic community model. Treatment strengths include

1) the therapeutic community/family approach;

2) psychiatric/mental health services as needed;

3) self-help programs including AA and NA. Treatment is provided with an effort to give each client the best opportunity to maintain sobriety upon completion.

Our standard criteria for admission is based on a client’s need for chemical dependence services evidenced by recent unsuccessful attempts at abstinence; a history of prior treatment episodes including the inability to complete outpatient treatment; and/or substantial deficits in life skills.

Clients are traditionally referred through EAP programs, Union and court programs, outpatient programs and family members.

After completing the residential treatment phase, all clients are evaluated for appropriate aftercare and a referral is made prior to discharge. Aftercare recommendations will take into consideration the client’s need for additional recovery services, vocational and housing needs, family support and neighborhood resources. Residents may continue treatment at our Far Rockaway facility, in local half-way houses, or in outpatient programs.
