Fee: most Private insurances, Medicaid, medicare; for individuals with no insurance we have a sliding scale fee based on income.

Description: not more than 250 words: The Chemical Dependency Unit of Ulster County Mental Health provides a wide range of Chemical Dependency Services to individuals and families with problems related to the misuse of alcohol and / or other substances. Participants are men, women and adolescents from all walks of life with varied educational and social backgrounds.

The services we provide are:


Assessment and evaluation
Education / Evaluation: This is an extended, 8 week evaluation program to assist participant and clinician in determining if the participant requires additional treatment.
Phase II Substance Abuse Treatment Group: This is an ongoing 1x week substance abuse treatment group. Participants remain in treatment for 6 – 12 months.
Intensive Treatment for Women: The PRIDE program: This is a group treatment program specifically designed for women who are involved with substances. The group meets 3x-4x weekly, the participant also meets individually with their assigned clinician. Length of treatment is 6 – 12 months.
Intensive Treatment: CORE: This is a co-educational (men and women) intensive treatment program for individuals who are involved in substances. Group meets 3x – 4x weekly. The participant also meets with individually with their assigned clinician. Length of treatment is 6 – 12 months.
Evening Intensive Treatment Program: CDEIP: This substance abuse treatment program is specifically geared to treat those individuals who are employed or in school. It is a group treatment program that meets evenings, 3x weekly. All participants are assigned an individual clinician. Length of treatment is 6 – 12 months.
Out Patient Day Treatment Program: CDDTP: This is our most intensive treatment program designed to treat those individuals with progressed addiction.

This program meets 5 days a week for 5 hours a day. Many participants reside in supportive housing.

Length of treatment is 6 – 12 months.

Additionally all of our programs have psychiatric coverage, can provide case management assistance, and assist with employment, vocational and educational referrals.
